Re-FUEL is a chance for men’s ministry leaders to lock arms and work together for improved discipleship efforts. There will be large and small group discussions, networking and resources. Facilitated by Steve Sonderman, Executive Pastor of Ministries at Elmbrook Church and co-hosted with Man in the Mirror Ministries.
Leaders can choose between attending the live event on October 14, 2017 from 8:30-3:30 at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, WI or at one of the host sites across North America.

Kris is a pastor, Bible teacher, writer, and trainer of leaders. Having served in pastoral leadership for 17 years, Kris now leads Ministry to Men at LifeWay Christian Resources. He also serves as Executive Editor of Stand Firm: A Devotional for Men.
Kris has a B.S. in Marketing from Auburn University and a M.Div. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In his 17 years of ministry, Kris has served as teaching pastor, executive pastor, campus pastor, and student pastor in churches of varying sizes, stages, and styles. As a consultant, this experience gives him tremendous insight in helping churches get from where they are to where they want to be.
He is experienced at helping churches develop systems for intentional disciple making and strategic mission. Kris enjoys exercise, landscaping, traveling, and watching his beloved Auburn Tigers play football. He is married to Vanessa, his high-school sweetheart. They have three children, Konnor, Emma, and Brady. They live outside Nashville, Tennessee.
Retired Navy Captain Tom Joyce is a Pastor at Immanuel Bible Church in the shadow of the nation’s capital located in Springfield, Virginia. Raised on Long Island and recruited as a lacrosse player, Tom graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis in 1979. After completing Naval Flight Officer training he was selected to fly the F-14 Tomcat and later graduated from the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) in 1983. Two years later, Tom was selected to fly in some of the scenes in the movie “TOPGUN”.
After several operational tours in fighter squadrons Tom reported to Fighter Squadron 111 as Commanding Officer onboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk. Under Tom’s leadership, Fighter Squadron 111 was recognized as the best Fighter Squadron in the Pacific Fleet. Tom survived the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the Pentagon, which included his office. He retired in August of 2003 after serving on active duty for more than 25 years.
In addition to his Bachelors degree from the United States Naval Academy, Tom earned a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University and both a Masters in Biblical Studies and a Masters of Divinity from Capital Bible Seminary. Tom has accumulated over 2200 hours in the F-14A Tomcat, and has made more than 600 aircraft carrier landings.
His awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal and numerous other unit and individual awards. Tom and his wife Deshua have four grown children. They live in northern Virginia.
Brett is a husband, father, disciple-maker, outdoor enthusiast, and avid Boston sports fan.
After a career in both the business and social service sectors, Brett joined Man in the Mirrorin 2000 and currently serves as President. His passion is to make the church relevant to younger men and men on the fringe. He breaks through the resistance that many men feel toward spiritual topics with his use of personal stories and humor.
Brett and his wife, Kimberly, live just outside Orlando, Florida, where they have raised a couple of great kids. His latest hobby is riding a mountain bike (sometimes into gator-infested rivers).
For three decades, Dr. Patrick Morley has been regarded as one of America’s most respected authorities on the unique challenges and opportunities that men face. Every Friday morning since 1986, Patrick has taught a Bible study to approximately 10,000 men—150 men live in Orlando, Florida and the others through a Video Bible Study webcast over the Internet in all 50 states and throughout the world.
In 1989 he wrote The Man in the Mirror, a landmark book that poured from his own search for meaning, purpose, and a deeper relationship with God. He has written 20 books—six of which have received critical acclaim—and has readers in over 48 countries. In 1991, Patrick founded Man in the Mirror which has impacted the lives of 12,000,000 men worldwide, has distributed 9,000,000 books, and last year worked with 30,000 church leaders to more effectively disciple men.
He lives in Winter Park, FL, with his wife, Patsy. They have two married children and four grandchildren.
Ronn grew up in Kansas and attended John Brown University on a baseball scholarship. He transferred to Kansas State University where he accepted Christ through Campus Crusade. He met and married Janie and they moved to Lynchburg, Virginia, where Ronn coached and played baseball at Liberty University while finishing his Master of Divinity work.
They moved to Quincy, Illinois to start a church, and Ronn served in senior pastoral positions for 34 years in Illinois, Wisconsin, Washington, and California. He recently resigned to become the Chicagoland Area Director and Regional Field Director for Man in the Mirror ministries.
Ronn’s passion is spiritual development, especially of men. His goal is to challenge every believer to develop a Biblical worldview and to bring out the best in every Christian that we might reveal the reality of Christ in all we do.
Ronn and Janie have five children and sixteen grandkids and currently live in the Chicago area.
“Coach K” has been a Men’s Pastor since 1985, focusing on a life-on-life approach to reaching and discipling men. He took delegations of men to 22 Promise Keeper Conferences between 1995– 2008. Patrick Morley stated that he was the “quintessential implementer” of the No Man Left Behind model, method and mindset. He has been privileged to serve on pastoral staffs in SC, FL and NC.
He founded MVP (Men of Valor & Prayer) which involved 500+ men from Charlotte, NC. He has spoken at ISI (Iron Sharpens Iron) Conferences in Nebraska, Tennessee and Texas. He has conducted leadership training for Lifeway Men in Nashville.
He most recently served as National Field Director for Man in the Mirror, coaching 100 Field Staff, visiting 40 States, and consulting with 800+ churches to help analyze their effectiveness in reaching men. He has been privileged to speak at Men’s Conferences in 7 foreign countries. He approaches life and ministry from a coaching grid, having led 4 High School Championship teams between 1980-1985.
He has been married to Candie since July 4, 1980. They have been blessed with 2 children. One of his favorite current roles is to be the “Mayor of Madisonville” with his granddaughter, Madison. He greatly enjoys Clemson Tiger football, Sprint Car Racing, and Hiking Trails.
Steve and Colleen have been married for 33 years and have four grown children and two grandchildren. Steve has been a pastor at Elmbrook Church since 1984 and most recently moved into a new role as Senior Associate Pastor for Ministries. Besides working with the men of Elmbrook for the past 25 years, he regularly speaks at men’s conferences and consults and leads seminars nationally and internationally, assisting churches in developing local men’s ministries. In his free time he leads the No Regrets Men’s Ministry and is chaplain for the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team.
